Cinnamon Air reports no injuries in Gregory Lake crash

Following an incident during a landing on the waters of Lake Gregory earlier today, Saffron Aviation (Pvt) Ltd, operator of Cinnamon Air, confirmed that no passengers were on board and all crew members are safe, with no injuries or casualties reported.     

The statement as follows:

Saffron Aviation (Pvt) Ltd which operates Cinnamon Air, provides the following update regarding an operational incident involving one of its amphibian aircrafts at Lake Gregory, Nuwara Eliya.

Earlier today, a Cinnamon Air aircraft experienced an incident during landing on the waters of Lake Gregory. We wish to confirm that there were no passengers on board the aircraft at the time of the incident.

All crew members are safe, and we can confirm there were no injuries or casualties.

Cinnamon Air is working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), which is currently conducting an on-site assessment. Having been in commercial operations since 2013 and having safely carried over 80,000 passengers, Cinnamon Air maintains safety as its highest priority and has also initiated an internal review of the incident.
