Court releases MP Sabri who smuggled in gold & smartphones!

Puttalam District MP Ali Sabri Raheem who was taken into the custody of Customs for smuggling gold and smartphones into the country, has been released by the court after being fined Rs.7.5 million.

It was reported that the market value of gold jewelleries and gold biscuits weighing 3 kg and 397 grams found in his possession was around Rs.74 million.

In addition, 91 smart phones worth Rs.4.2 million were also found in his luggage.
