TNA’s Anandan to remain independent

The TNA MP Sivasakthi Anandan said that he will remain independent in the Parliament. He added that he cannot agree with the statement made by Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan that the appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa to the post of Prime Minister, replacing Ranil Wickremesinghe, is unconstitutional. MP Anandan, expressing his views to Mawbima, said TNA leader Sampanthan’s claim that replacing Ranil Wickremesinghe with Mahinda Rajapaksa, as the Prime Minister, is unconstitutional, is unacceptable.

Sampanthan who could not even use the controversial situation to resolve the issues of the Tamil people, is in a dire predicament . Even his claim that the decision of the President is unconstitutional is not going to bring any benefit to the Tamil people, Anandan pointed out. Anandan’s stance will detrimentally affect Ranil Wickremesinghe, who has kept faith in the TNA MPs voting for him in the Parliament.
