Palali Airport dev. project to be expedited

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued directives to relevant officials to expedite the Jaffna Palali Airport development project immediately and avoid any further delays.The directives were issued following an observational tour of the Palali airport.Premier Wickremesinghe had further stressed on the importance of coordination between all relevant institutions and stake holders for the successful completion of the development project.The total expenditure for the project is estimated to be 20 billion rupees.

Meanwhile the Premier also stated that steps will be initiated to develop the Kankesanthurai Port as a commercial harbour, in order to transform it into an economic hub.The Prime Minister had accordingly directed officials to promptly commence the allocation of land and funds to get the project underway.
