Rishabh Pant, who is seen as a successor to MS Dhoni one the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman retires from international cricket, has been recalled to side after missing the ODI series against Australia and New Zealand.
Pant last played an ODI in October last year when India hosted West Indies in a five-match series. However, has been impressive in the handful of Tests that he has played, scoring two centuries in 9 matches.
"We have included him [Pant] considering the fact that he is a left-hander and we are going to discuss with the team management. We will try and figure the best possible batting position for Pant. With a left-hander in the side, there is an advantage of left-right combination," India's chairman of selectors MSK Prasad said.
