NIA probes 15-km span, calls from Pakistan after Pulwama attack

The two teams visited the site of the attack at Lethpora, some 30 km from Srinagar on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, took photographs and videos and collected samples from the area for forensic examination.

As the toll in the suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama climbed to 40 Friday, preliminary investigations have found that the explosive used in the bombing could be around 10-15 kg of RDX.

With separate teams of the the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) arriving in J&K to inspect the site of the explosion, sources said that agencies are also trying to determine why a 15-km stretch on the national highway — from Pampore to Awantipora — has been used to target security forces in the Valley on multiple occasions.
