Kalindi Express blast: Threat letter with Jaish-e-Mohammad reference found inside the train
he Police has found a threat letter inside Kalindi Express that makes reference to terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad. Kanpur Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Suman confirmed this to India Today Television.
The handwritten letter is in Hindi. It makes reference to terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad but the Hindi writing mentions the name as "Jais-e-Mohammad".
SP Sanjeev Suman told India Today TV that the letter looks like an act of mischief. However, he maintained that the police will carry out an investigation and will not take any chances.
A low-intensity explosion took place in the general coach of Kanpur-Bhiwani Kalindi Express on Wednesday evening. The blast was reported at 7:10 pm near Barrajpur station close to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
No injury or casualty has been reported. A portion inside the toilet in the general coach, where the blast took place, has got damaged due to the low intensity blast.
All coaches of the train are being checked by the police as a precautionary measure.
