Two arrested for leak of Anna University paper
An engineering student and an engineering graduate were arrested and remanded in custody for leaking the question paper during Anna University’s recent examination for affiliated colleges.
The MA6251 Mathematics - II, of Regulations 2013, for which the exam was conducted on the forenoon of December 3, was leaked much ahead of the exam. The students received the question paper through social media.
The Crime Branch CID on Wednesday arrested K. Sureshkumar, a B.E. Computer Science graduate who passed out in 2016, and A. Harikrishnan, a student of an engineering college in Sriperumbudur, who had arrears and was appearing for the examination, for leaking the question paper.
One absconding
Police said Sureshkumar had got the copy of the question paper from one of his relatives working in the office of the Controller of Examination
He passed it to Harikrishnan, who circulated it among his friends.
Additional DGP Amresh Pujari told The Hindu, “We have cracked the case after a thorough investigation. We have arrested two persons; one more person is absconding.”
A complaint was made to the university, following which the exam was cancelled. The university’s Controller of Examination M. Venkatesan lodged a formal complaint with the CBCID on December 7.
