Watery grave for student in Neelankarai

A teenager was washed ashore in Neelankarai beach passed away yesterday. According to the police, the victim was identified as Santhosh Ashirvad (16), a student of Christ King school in Medavakkam. He was a resident of Kakkan Street, Medvakkam. As per sources, Santhosh along with his classmates Balaji (16) of Kovilambakkam and Naveen (16) of Chitalapakkam went to bathe in the Neelankarai sea at Bharathi Avenue, Injambakkam at 3 pm yesterday.

Santhosh was pulled in by a huge wave, his friends went in and pulled him back to safety and rushed him to the hospital. However, he could not be saved. His body was sent to Government Royapettah Hospital. Neelankarai police have registered a case.
