PM visits the Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has visited the Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala on a private visit.

The Premier was accompanied by his wife and several Ministers.

The Prime Minister arrived at the Chennai international Airport last afternoon and was flown to Tirupati airport via a special helicopter.

The Deccan Chronicle said India’s Minister of Industries N Amarnath Reddy welcomed the visiting Prime Minister at the airport.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe will offer worship today and return from Tirupati airport around 1.15pm.

Tight security has been put in place at the airport and in Tirumala by Police.
