Hold Presidential election promptly - Patali

Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka has highlighted the pressing need for the prompt conduct of a presidential election.
Speaking to media in Kandy the Minister said the aspirations of 6.2 million people who voted for the Head of State have been let down.
He stressed it is now the Presidents duty to call a Presidential election without further delay.
He charged the President has deviated from the mandate of the people who voted for him.
Minister Champika Ranawaka said the only pathway left to the President now is to obtain a new mandate from the people, if he wishes to form another alliance and once again contest the presidential election.
Therefore the Minister stressed a Presidential election must be called first.
