Funeral of Borella Traffic OIC today

The final rites of Borella Traffic OIC, Inspector of Police Ananda Sagara Sarathchandra, who succumbed to injuries following a road accident, will be held today.

The remains of the Policeman is currently placed at a private parlour in Borella.

Police said the final rites of IP Sarathchandra will be held with full police honours.

IP Sarathchandra met with an accident in Bambalapitiya on the 24th of February while on duty.

The accident was reported when the motorbike IP Sagara Sarathchandra was travelling on, was rammed by a defender during early hours of the morning.

Seven suspects arrested over the incident, including the son Parliamentarian, Mahindananda Aluthgamage were released on bail.

The driver of the defender in question, son of a Superintendent of Police is scheduled to be produced before courts today
