Tension in Batticaloa! For STF Striking attack on Tamil youth

A young man who was attacked by STF officers severely and admitted in the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital with severe injuries.The STF men went to Karadiyanaru at 9.00 am yesterday and attacked a youth alleging him that he cut down a tree illegally in the area without permission. Another youth who went to help the injured youth was also beaten thoroughly by STF men mercilessly
Mannan Kajanthan, 27, from Karadiyanaru area is currently undergoing treatment at the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital under the Special Task Force,'s intensive surveillance.

The Special TaskForce went to Karadiyanaru area on Tuesday (9 am) at 9.00 am and attacked a young man on the fabricated charge that he had illegally cut down a tree in the area.
Special Task Force personnel had immediately taken the young man to the Illupaiyadisena Forest Department. There the Forest Councill General had refused to take charge of the young man due to the condition of the victim's health condition. Later the Special Action Force personnel took the injured young man to the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital in the Vanaparipalana council's vehicle for further treatment since his health was bad when he was taken to the Eravur hospital.
The injured man is being treated under Special Task Force Special Task Force.The relatives have expressed concern that they have not been granted permission to visit the young man who was attacked.
The relatives of the attacked youth said they had filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission after the police told them that they could not file a complaint against the Special Task Force when they went to the police to call the police on the same occasion.
