Third New Zealand-Bangladesh Test called off after Christchurch attack

The third Test between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Christchurch has been called off following a shooting attack in the city on Friday, 15 March.

New Zealand Cricket confirmed the players and staff of both teams were “safe and accounted for” before they released an official statement confirming the abandonment of the Test.

“On behalf of NZC, heartfelt condolences to those affected,” David White, the chief executive officer, said. "We've cancelled the game. I've spoken to my counterpart at Bangladesh cricket – we agree it's inappropriate to play cricket at this time."
