Earthquake in Badulla

A minor earth tremor has been reported in Badulla, Hali-Ela, Welimada, Kandaketiya and Passara this morning.

The Disaster Management Centre said the tremor was reported between 0815 and 0820 this morning.Speaking to NewsRadio, Assistant Director of the Badulla District Disaster Management Centre, EML Udayakumara said no damages have been reported following the tremor, which lasted for only few seconds in most areas of the central hills.

He said the public should not be alarmed over the development.<
