Lankan concealing Gold worth Rs. 30mn arrested

A Sri Lankan suspect in possession of 4kgs of gold biscuits worth over Rs. 30 million has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

Airport customs said the suspect had attempted to smuggle the stock of gold from India by concealing it on his person, in the vicinity of his lower spine.

Accordingly Customs have recovered 40 gold biscuits.The suspect is a 49 year old resident of Hulftsdorp.Airport Customs are conducting further investigations into the case.
