2 suspects arrested with 88kgs of K. Marijuana

Two suspects have been arrested in possession of over 88kgs of Kerala Marijuana valued at approximately Rs.13.3 million.

The Police Narcotics Bureau said the operation was carried out this morning with assistance from the Navy.

Police believe the two suspects who are residents of Point Pedro had intended to transport the stash via a sea route to another location.

The two suspects will be produced before the Point Pedro Magistrates Court, whilst the Police Narcotics bureau conducts further investigations.

Meanwhile Police also arrested a suspect in possession of 8kgs of Kerala Marijuana in Vavuniya last evening.

Police stated the suspect who was travelling in a public bus was arrested, when the vehicle was stopped and subjected to a spot inspection.
