Special court order issued to Sampath Bank

In respect of the CID investigations into the massive Sampath Bank fraud on depositors’ accounts, the court had ordered that a forensic audit be done on all the concerned accounts.
The Kaduwela Magistrate Prasanna Alwis issued this order when the case was taken up today.
The Magistrate ordered Sampath Bank to conduct the forensic audit by an independent institution with experience in this field and ordered that the report be submitted to courts.
The Sampath Bank scam was revealed based on investigations conducted by the CID as a result of a complaint lodged by renowned native doctor Kelum Harsha Weerasinghe.
President’s Counsel Upul Jayasooriya headed the team of lawyers representing the aggrieved parties which also included Attorney Nalin Dissanayake and Kapila Walisundara.
