Public testimonies prepared for case against CEB

The initiative to gather testimonies from the public is being carried out by the Public Utilities Commission.

Speaking  Communications Director of the PUCSL Jayanath Herath said once testimonies have been effectively compiled a case will be filed against the CEB in court.

This is the very first time a case will be filed by the Commission against the CEB charging power cuts were imposed illegally. 

The CEB is required to obtain permission from the Public Utilities Commission to impose power cuts, while the public must also be granted official notice in due time.

However the PUCSL charges that the CEB failed to adhere to these guidelines by imposing power cuts since the 18th of March.
