100 Mistakes of Modi: Congress launches book on PM, calls him present-day Shishupal
The Congress on Saturday launched a book on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The book is titled '100 Mistakes of Modi' and has a tagline, 'BJP's Shishupal.' The book on Narendra Modi has 100 pages with "100 mistakes of the prime minister". The publisher is Maharashtra State Congress Committee.
The Congress's 100 Mistakes of Modi was launched after a meeting of the top party leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, K C Venugopal and Ashok Chavan. The meeting took place at the Congress office in Dadar, Gandhi Bhavan.
The book mentions the Rafale deal as PM Modi's first mistake. The chapter 'Rafale Deal, Ambani's Win' accuses the Modi government of corruption, saying that it countered Rs 58 crore for 36 aircraft, a deal which is triple the amount signed by the Congress-led government.
"Apart from that, why a pressure was made by Modi on France to make Anil Ambani the Offset Partner of the Dassault Aviation?" the chapter asks, adding, "On one hand, Hindustan Aeronautics has earned its name across the globe for making aircraft, on the other, Reliance has zero experience in the production of defence sector."
Terming the prime minister "the looter in this loot", the chapter said, "PM Modi extends thousands of crores of the nation to benefit only his multi-millionaire friend."
Fake Promises; Less Work
Another chapter of the book, titled 'Fake Promises; Less Work', said that piffling around before laying the foundation of the work is a feature of PM Modi. "The Modi government believes to spend more on advertisement than work which can be proved by the figure of bucks the parry spends"
Devil Demonetisation; Economy Drags Down
The 100 Mistakes of Modi book also mentioned the demonetisation in a chapter titled 'Devil Demonetisation; Economy Drags Down'.
"Modi had announced that the country's black money will be terminated in a night by the implementation of the demonetization. But actually, nothing has been achieved beyond the business of the companies offering e-payment services. More than 100 people lost their lives for the sake of Modi's decision," the chapter read.
Who was Shishupal?
The Congress called PM Modi the modern day Shishupal. In the epic Mahabharat, Shishupal's mother requested her nephew, Lord Krishna, to pardon his cousin Shishupal for his 100 offences. On Shishupal's 101st offence, Krishna released his Sudarshana Chakra on him and killed him on the spot.
A Congress leader said, "Modi often quotes from the ancient Indian epics. Lord Krishna had promised his aunt [Shishupal's mother] that he will forgive Shishupal for his 100 mistakes and there will be no forgiveness after that. Similarly, the people of the country have overlooked Modi's 100 mistakes in the last five years."
