4 hours the limit for power cuts-Energy Ministry

The Ministry of Power and Energy says power cuts longer than four hours per day will not be imposed in any part of the island.

Media Spokesman of the Ministry Sulakshana Jayawardene  said a three hour power cut in the afternoon and one hour disruption at night is currently being imposed.

However there are four hour long power cuts in the afternoon in certain areas, in addition to the one hour power cut in the night, according to JaffnaZone.com reporter.

However when contacted by  our reporter, the Media Spokesman refuted such reports claiming the power disruptions take place only according to the announced scheduled times.
