Pollachi sex case: Top cops in TN transferred
The Tamilnadu government has issued order to transfer Coimbatore (Rural) SP who courted controversy by revealing the identity of the complainant in the Pollachi sexual abuse case.
In a press meet, Coimbatore (Rural) Superitendent of Police, Pandiarajan had revealed the name of the woman complainant who pinpointed the names of those involved in the Pollachi serial sexual abuse case.
This created huge backlash and accusations on Pandiarajan and it was alleged that he was trying to protect the accused who reportedly had high level connections in the government.
Following the backlash, Pandiarajan has been transferred and kept in waiting list. Coimbatore DSP Jayaraman, Pollachi (East) Inspector Natesan have also been transferred.
In place of Pandiarajan, Sujithkumar (Deputy Commissioner of Police – Traffic, Coimbatore) has been appointed as Coimbatore’s new SP, K G Sivakumar (DSP – Crime Records Bureau, Ooty) will replace DSP Jayaraman and Venkataraman (Inspector, Naxal special division, Coimbatore) will replace Inspector Natesan.
