Wife kills self after husband ditches her dinner for mother-in-law's
You may not believe this to have happened but this is no fiction. A woman in Delhi reportedly committed suicide because her husband did not have dinner with her at home.
The case has been reported in Nand Nagri area of Delhi.
Police say the woman was upset that her husband did not join her for dinner and rather ate at her mother's place after dropping her brother home.
Besides this, what also reportedly angered her was that her husband did not even eat from the tiffin she had prepared for his lunch.
When her husband reached home and told her that he won't have dinner, the couple started quarrelling.
The woman is identified as Sangeeta and her husband is Ram Kishan.
Police say the suicide was noticed on Monday morning when Ram Kishan woke up and saw Sangeeta's body hanging in the kitchen. A family member later called the police.
At the time when Sangeeta hung herself, Ram Kishan was reportedly sleeping in his room.
Police say in the priliminary investigtions they have not found any foulplay in the case.
Sangeeta and Ram Kishan were married in 2013. They have two children - a 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter.
The case is being investigated by the local SDM.
Police say that on being questioned, Ram Kishan said that on Monday he was slightly late in returning home as he went to drop his brother-in-law who works in his office. When he reached his in-laws' home, his mother-in-law asked him to have dinner with them. He agreed.
On reaching his home, Ram Kishan told Sangeeta he was late because he had gone to drop her brother and had dinner at her mother's place.
He also handed her the tiffin which she had prepared for her as lunch.
Police say the couple had an argument following this, and Ram Kishan went to his room and slept.
The next day when he woke up, Ram Kishan saw his wife's body hanging in the kitchen.
