Mahendran created separate brand for himself, says CM Palaniswami
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami condoled the death of legendary filmmaker Mahendran who passed away Tuesday.
In a statement, Palaniswami said, “I was saddened to hear the passing of Mahendran who is lauded as a legendary director who made realistic films.”
“Director Mahendran is a man of compassion and simplicity. He started his film career as a screenwriter, later became a director in Mullum Malarum and directed many hit films such as Uthiri Pookal and Johnny. His film Nenjathai Killadhey won the national award.”
Palaniswami added, “Mahendran was not only a great director, but also excelled in individual disciplines like story, screenplay, dialogue writing and acting. He created a separate brand for himself in the cinema field. His name is noteworthy among the people who made Tamil cinema famous.”
The Chief Minister concluded his condolence message, saying, “Mahendran’s demise is an irreplaceable loss to the world of cinema. I express my deepest condolence and sympathies to the family, fans, friends who mourn him.”
