JVP to field Presidential candidate?

The JVP says if the 20th Amendment to the Constitution is not passed in Parliament they will field a Presidential candidate for the 2020 election.
Speaking during an event in Colombo Chief Secretary Tilvin Silva said the JVP excepts to enter the Presidential Election campaign through a broad alliance.
The Chief Secretary said politicians are engaging in deforestation in public, but efforts are underway to highlight that deforestation is taking place only in certain places.
He further said that regardless of where it happens, it’s wrong and they are trying to look at this through the perspective of racism.
He pointed out that if the 20th Amendment is not passed and if a Presidential Election is called, the JVP is ready to represent a people’s movement, and face the election.
Tilvin Silva also said the election won’t be easy because it’s a three way election.
