Indian Defence Secy. due today

Indian Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra will arrive in the island today to participate in a bilateral defence dialogue hosted by the Ministry of Defence. 

During his two-day visit Secretary Mitra is expected to meet President Maithripala Sirisena, Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando, Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and the Tri Services Commanders. 

He will engage in several top-level meetings during his stay. 

His counterparts will discuss the security challenges faced by the two nations. He is also scheduled to visit heritage sites in Kandy and Anuradhapura.
