Teenager held for killing waiter at Pallavaram

The city police have arrested a teenager for stabbing a hotel server few days ago at Pozhichalur near Pallavaram in the wee hours of today.

According to the police, a special team of police arrested Lokesh (18) from a house he was hiding. Police said they made the arrested based on a tip off.

They are also searching for a man identified as Lakshmanan who is involved in the stabbing. It may be noted that a restaurant server Rajakannan (22) was stabbed by an unidentified gang near a wine shop at Pallavaram. He passed away at the hospital.

According to the police, Rajakannan was a native of Mayiladuthurai worked at a hotel in Pallavaram and live in a single room accommodation at Prem Nagar, Pollichallur.

On the fateful day, he was standing near a wine shop at near his house when a four-member gang approached him and asked for his mobile phone which he refused to give.

The gang began attacking him and his friend Prashanth intervened to save him. During which one of the gang member brandished a knife and attacked Prashanth and stabbed Rajakannan.

Both of them were sent to Government Chrompet Hospital. While Prashanth escaped with minor injuries, Rajakannan remained critical. He was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital where he passed away.
