Karuna and Pillayan team members arrested by intelligence unit !

It is reported that former Karuna group members from Eastern Province have been arrested and taken to Colombo.

A special police team of terrorist detachment from Colombo has arrested four of the former members of the Armed Forces Karuna group in the East and taken to Colombo.

There was no official information about their arrest.

According to Some unconfirmed reports it is suggested that they could be brought for investigations into the conspiracy to kill the president in Batticaloa.

Meanwhile, Mahilan , a former member of the former Karuna group is also arrested.He had left from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and joined Karunas and then  worked with Trincomalee navy.

Meanwhile, some of those arrested were from the former defense paramilitary group who received monthly salaries from the Ministry of Defense.

The paramilitary group, which has worked with the Pillayan team, has been separated from the LTTE, and the government has been paying them for intelligence operations.

Thus, hundreds of people have already been paid a salary from the government. Thus, though the security forces had been paying salaries to these mercenaries in support of military subordinates in the eastern province, but many killings have not yet been discovered in the East.

The security guards did not arrest those who had assassinated Mandurayan social service officer, who was shot dead in the East after the end of the war in 2009.

Similarly, those responsible for the shooting of the Batticaloa District Land Reform Commission Director Vimalaraj have not been arrested till today.

In the same way, the security guards are not able to arrest the attackers on two policemen who were shot dead in Vavunathivu last time.In this situation, the security forces have been searching for those who worked with the Karuna Pillayan team.
