World Cup selection will be a dream come true: Rishabh Pant
India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant busy plying his trade for the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League but while his focus is on the T20 league at the moment, a part of his attention is also towards the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales next month.
Rishabh Pant is still not sure whether he will make the Indian squad for the showpiece event starting May 30 but it would be a dream come true for the Delhi cricketers if he does.
One of the major criticisms that Pant has faced in his short career so far is a tendency to throw his wicket away by playing rash shots at crucial junctures.
Even in the ongoing IPL, Pant has been dismissed playing irresponsible shots in a few of the games but he wants to rectify that and help his team win more games.
"World Cup selection will be a dream come true. I want to win matches for India and be more consistent and finish more games for the country," Rishabh Pant told Boria Majumdar (Consulting Editor Sports, India Today Group).
Pant, who has scored 176 runs from 6 IPL games so far, also had his Delhi Capitals teammate Shikhar Dhawan for company during the interview.
Shikhar Dhawan hasn't been at his best form in the initial stage of the IPL this season but he isn't too worried about not scoring too many runs before the World Cup as he has always done well in ICC tournaments.
