Rupavahini – ITN signs of management changes!

President Maithripala Sirisena has decided to hold a meeting with the Rupavahini and ITN heads and the unions, next week, it is reported.

The President had decided to call for this meeting after Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had made a request from the President to make a change in the management positions of these institutions as he is displeased with their conduct. Wickremesinghe had made this request prior to yesterday’s (09) Cabinet meeting.

It is reported that at the time the request was made by the Prime Minister, Ministers Sajith Premadasa and Kabir Hashim were also present.

However, the President had said that as there are many issues within the Rupavahini Corporation and ITN, he intends to speak to the union members and the management next week in order to resolve these issues.
