I-T raids against pvt firm, financiers across TN

Several teams of Income-Tax (I-T) officials conducted raids at a private company and financiers in several part of Tamilnadu. The raids were conducted by a special team from Delhi.

According to sources, I-T officials carried out searches at the offices and residence of a private engineering company which carried out government infrastructure projects on contract basis.

The residence of the firm’s owner and its branch offices came under the scanner in seven places in the city and at Namakkal. Several documents were reported seized following the survey.

In a separate operation, teams of I-T sleuths also conducted raids at private finance companies in 11 places in the city and at Thoothukudi. The raids reportedly took place following claims that they were involved in giving money for voters.
