I will slap Vairamuthu: Chinmayi
Singer Chinmayi Sripaada who leveled sensational accusations of sexual misconduct against lyricist Vairamuthu in wake of the #MeToo movement, has said that she will slap him when she sees him next.
She tweeted her intentions responding to a Twitter user who tagged her in a video that shows actress Khusboo slapping a molester who misbehaved with her during a Congress rally in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
The Twitter user congratulated Khusbu for acting instantly against the molester and seemed to suggest to Chinmayee that this is how it should be done.
Responding to it, Chimayi tweeted: “Sure. I ll remember to slap Mr Vairamuthu if at all I see him next. Looks like that’s the only justice I’ll get. I have the age and the guts now.”
Chinmayi also tweeted: “I applaud Khushboo ma’am’s bravery. But expecting young girls to have the same physical strength, conviction to slap a man back is unrealistic. ‘You should have slapped him’ can be OK where men don’t throw acid on the faces of women who say NO.”
Last year, Chinmayi came out with the shocking allegation that Variamuthu sexually molested her when she was a teenager and has been championing the #metoo movement in south India encouraging women to take a bold stand against molesters.
