A Leftist leader has said that the Sinhala nationalist forces are in a quandary about their intended presidential hopeful after lawsuits were filed against him in the US.

While two cases have been filed against the former Defence Secretary in the United States of America, another group is said to be inquiring about following suit.

The New Samasamaja Party leader has said that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa can be identified as the most racist person and as he faces the risk of being convicted in the US, the opposition is facing complications.

Addressing the media in Colombo, Dr. Wickramabahy Karunaratne said the man calling himself the Modern Dutugemunu the golden man is now in trouble and those who promoted him are crying about it.

He noted that these forces are trying to claim that the majority Sinhalese should have complete control of the country, but added that this is not the ideology of all Sinhala voters.

“They have accepted that they do not represent the Tamil, Muslim and other minorities in the country. Their sole intention is that the country should be controlled by the majority Sinhalese and only their rights should be upheld.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Wickramabahu said that at a time when the opposition if in turmoil, there is a plan to ensure victory for Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential polls and appoint Sajith Premadasa to the post of Prime Minister.
