am scared of ghosts, says actress Vedhika
Actress Vedhika who was last seen in Vasantha Balan’s ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan‘ in 2014 is back in Kollywood with ‘Kaanchana 3,’ which has Raghava Lawrence in the lead.
Speaking to News Today, the actress who rose to fame with Muni which was the first movie in the Kaanchana franchise shares about her journey.
“I am happy to be associated with the Muni team again. It is like a home coming. I was almost 16 when I was cast in the film, now when I was offered this role in Kaanchana 3, I grabbed it with both hands,” she says.
Vedhika says it was fun working with the team. “Though there are three heroines in the movie, each one has been given ample space to perform and the shooting spot was more like one big workation (work+vacation). I gave 70 days call sheet for this movie and time flew away just like that,’she adds.
Talking about Lawrence, she says, “Being the captain of the ship, he had a tough job, but did it with such ease and calmness.”
Being cast in a number of horror movies, when asked if she was scared of ghosts, Vedhika says, “I am scared. At times when my mom and our maid are out of town, I appoint a temporary maid just to stay with me during the night.”
Talking about the break in Kollywood, she says, “Working with directors like Lawrence, Vasantha Balan and Bala at the early stage of career, I learnt a lot and am choosy with my scripts. I had to take a brief break to complete my studies as well.”
Speaking about her future ventures, Vedhika says, “I have committed two movies in Tamil of which one is directed by debutant Karthik Vignesh and has Tollywood hero Aadi Saikumar as the lead. This will be a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu. Apart from this I will be making my Bollywood debut with Emraan Hashmi in a movie directed by Jeetu Joseph.”
