Plus Two results: Victory for girls alliance; Tirupur tops TN
As in the past, girls continued to shine in the State board Plus Two exams in Tamilnadu, results of which were announced today. The overall pass percentage stood at 91.3 per cent. Of them, girls scored 93.64 per cent and boys – 88.57 per cent.
As per the data released by Directorate of Government Examinations, Tirupur ranked first with 95.37 pass per cent, Erode second with 95.23 per cent and Perambalur third with 95.15 per cent. Chennai secured 14th rank with 92.96 pass percentage.
As many as 8,69,423 students representing schools and private registered and 8,42,512 candidates appeared for Plus Two exams, held between 1 and 19 March.
Among the 7,083 schools, 1,281 have recorded 100 per cent results. In addition, among the 45 prisoners and 2,697 differently-abled students who appeared, 34 and 2404 belonging to the respective categories cleared the board exam.
The provisional marksheets would be available on www.dge.tn.nic from 24 April and students can collect the original marksheets from their respective schools from 20 to 26 April.
Students can apply for duplicate answer copies and revaluation between 22 and 24 April. A payment of Rs 275 should be made for getting the answer scripts of all subjects. For retotalling of all papers except Biology, Rs 305 has to be paid and for Biology, it is Rs 205.
The supplementary exam for Plus Two will be held from 6 to 13 June and for class 11, between 14 and 21 June.
Meanwhile, educationists and social activists have requested the students not to take hasty decisions citing reasons like failing or securing low marks.
