Two new Acts to ensure Cyber Security!

Measures are afoot to present two bills to parliament next month to ensure cyber security and protect special information, said Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology Minister Ajith P. Perera.
He pointed out that Sri Lanka does not have legal provisions to take action against those who engage in various illegal activities over the internet and ensure cyber security. Hence, with the introduction of such laws Sri Lanka would be able to take action internationally through such Acts. Sri Lanka would also be able to engage in the cyber security activities implemented by the UN and other international bodies.
Meanwhile, a new information protection Bill has also been drafted for the protection of vital information and through that personal information and information which could jeopardise national security could be protected, he said.
