Carry only personal parcels in buses-Bus owners

Carrying large parcels within private buses has been temporarily suspended given the present security situation in the country.

The Inter Provincial Private Bus Association Sarath Vijitha Kumara requested the public to carry parcels that they alone can identify.

He noted bus drivers and conductors have been informed to turn away commuters who are carrying large bags or luggage and instead encourage smaller parcels they can keep on their person, and called on the public to be cautious of any baggage placed on racks or under seats.

Vijitha Kumara stressed, further steps would be reached in future regarding the issue, following discussions with security forces. He reiterated for the public to only travel light during this time.
