Over 600 Pakistani’s displaced!

A group of 600 Pakistani nationals who had fled Pakistan and were residing in the Negombo Police Division have been relocated to the Ahamadia Community Centre in Nittambuwa for security reasons, it is reported.

The group of Pakistani’s had fled to Sri Lanka through the mediation of the UN due to the clashes in their country.

However, with the Easter Sunday bombings, the owners of the houses they had been living in had notified them to vacate.

The Negombo Police had been informed about the security of this group of Pakistanis and they had been housed at this location.

It is reported that funds for their upkeep is being provided by the UN and Pakistan.
