Karnataka man arrested for hoax bomb threat
A 65-year-old lorry driver was arrested by the Karnataka police for making a hoax call to the control room.
The man identified as Sundar Murthy had claimed that terror blasts would happen across States mainly in South India and listed out places. He also stated that a group of terrorists were hiding in Ramanathapuram.
A special team of CCB sleuths arrested the caller from Avalahalli in the eastern outskirts of Bengaluru. Meanwhile, the Tamilnadu police have beefed up security in and around Ramanathapuram following the incident. Sources said the whole of Tamilnadu has come under a security blanket and vital places in Chennai and other parts are under 24×7 vigil.
