Bomb threat to Pamban bridge in TN
: Days after the deadly Easter Sunday blast, authorities have received a bomb threat to the Pamban sea bridge and the police are carrying out extensive searches in connection to it. According to a media report, a police office in Chennai received an anonymous phone call threatening to blast the Pamban bridge. Police and sniffer dogs along with bomb detection squad personnel have been deployed to search on both the road and rail bridges connecting Pamban and Rameswaram, said the report, adding that all vehicles plying on the road bridge were being checked. Security cover at the famous Lord Ramanathaswamy temple has also been heightened. The Tamilnadu government has asked Coast Guard, Coastal Marine Police and the local police have been asked to be vigilant. The Sri Lanka blasts that took place on 21 April killed 253 people and injured 500 others.
