Real Easter attack mastermind in custody

Minister Rajitha Senaratne claims the real mastermind behind the Easter Sunday attacks was not Zharan Hashim.

Speaking at a media briefing last evening, the Minister however said the relevant suspect in question is currently in the custody of security forces.

He said the Rajapaksa’s have leveled various accusations against the government adding however that the present administration has admittedly had certain shortcomings, while the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers did not have any knowledge of this security situation.

The Minister however stressed that the government will not attempt to bypass its responsibility.Fortunately, he noted, security forces had succeeded in arresting the real mastermind behind the attacks at a certain location.

He said Zharan is not the leader.

If he was the leader, he would never have come as a suicide bomber and died".
