Zahira college bans face coverings

A prominent Muslim school in Colombo - Zahira College has displayed a special notice at the school gate.

The notice states that the burka, niqab and full face helmets which hinder individual identification, as well as large bags are banned.

The ban applies to all children, parents, teachers and old students entering the school premises, it says.
