Woman posting unverified info on FB handed over to CID

A female employee of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority has been taken into Police custody for an investigation.

The suspect has been taken into custody over an incident where an internal letter ,which was sent by the Director of Human Resources of Tourism Development Authority containing unverified information regarding security, was released to social media.

The Police states that the suspect has taken a photograph of the letter and posted it on social media.

The suspect who is a resident of Dalada Ela, Badulla, has been assigned to Tourism Development Authority through a service provider company.

The Police is to hand over the suspect to Criminal Investigation Department (CID)after questioning.
