Welikada Prison killings: Government Analyst’s report not received!

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (1) informed the court that the Government Analyst's report with regard to investigations into the killing of 27 inmates of the Welikada Prison, has not yet been received.

The CID made the above statement when the case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage today.

The CID added that further investigations are being carried out. The magistrate ordered the CID to present a report on the progress of investigations on 8thJanuary.

Moreover, the magistrate ordered to further remand former Prisons Commissioner Emil Ranjan Lamahewa till 8th January.
