Two arrested with a large number of Tamil Nadu ganja in Jaffna

Two persons were arrested by police in connection with the possession of a cannabis drug in Jaffna.

The police said that two persons were arrested today (Saturday) in connection with 74 kilograms of cannabis in Jaffna, Vadamarachchi sea.

The drug was seized in the naval surveillance operation at Vadamarachchi sea.Two men, aged between 28 and 35, were arrested in the Vadamarachchi Kattikadam area.

The navy captured the 74 kg ganja from their possession and informed the police and handed over the arrested to the police.

Suspects have been handed over to the District Drug Crime Prevention Division and further inquiries are taking place.
