Arjun Tendulkar shines with all-round show in T20 Mumbai League opener
Arjun Tendulkar was certainly one of the major talking points in the lead up to the Mumbai T20 League opener at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. Arjun, son of batting great Sachin Tendulkar, made his league debut for Aakash Tigers MWS in their tournament opener against Triumphs Knights MNE.
Arjun Tendulkar showed no signs of nerves in his Mumbai T20 League debut as the 19-year-old came up with an all-round performance in Tigers' 5-wicket win over Knights.
Handed the responsibility of bowling in the powerplay overs by Tigers captain Dhawal Kulkarni, Arjun Tendulkar bowled with a lot of control and impressed in only first match in the city's T20 league.
Arjun gave away just 6 runs in his first over and picked up the wicket of Knights opener Karan Shah (14) in the 2nd over. He then bowled another tidy over inside the powerplay, giving away just 8 runs.
Arjun Tendulkar finished with figures of 1 for 21 despite not being brought back into the attack for the fourth over. Arjun bowled all his overs inside the powerplay.
Despite Arjun Tendulkar's tidy spell, Knights posted 147, thanks to a 56-ball 90 from their captain Suryakumar Yadav. The Knights star, who was in fine form for Mumbai Indians in their title-winning campaign in IPL 2019, hit 7 sixes and 4 boundaries in his whirlwind knock.
