22 private Eng colleges to be closed in Tamil Nadu

 Following an inspection conducted by Anna University officials, 22 private engineering colleges affiliated to the institution have been ordered to close.

92 colleges lacking basic infrastructure and qualified teachers have come under their radar and the 15,000 seats have been cut down in 300 departments in 92 engineering, architecture, MBA and MCA colleges.

This comes following the inspection of 537 institutions registered under the university by a team comprising officials from IIT Madras, NIT Trichy and IISc Bengaluru.

While this comes during the admission season, students, who have completed class 12 and are hunting the right engineering college and course, should consider factors such as infrastructure and availability of well-qualified staff
