Rs. 125 million compensation paid to those killed in Easter Sunday attack

Over Rs. 125 million has been paid as compensation for persons killed in the Easter Sunday terror attack. Rs. 119.3 million has been paid as compensation for those who died in Katuwapitiya, Kochchikade and Batticaloa, respectively, Rs. 86 million, Rs. 12.1 million and Rs. 21.2 million respectively.

For Shangri-La, Cinnamon Grand, Kingsbury, Tropical In victims, 2.8 million, 1.4 million, 0.9 million, and 1.1 million rupees were paid respectively as compensation.

Due to the explosion, 43 foreigners were killed and some dead bodies have still not been identified. They will be compensated through district secretaries at a later stage.

In addition, Rs. 10 million for Kochchikade and Katuwapitiya churches and Rs. 5 million for Zion church have been allocated.
