Abubakar bans cable TV in Kalmunai!

Several Cable TV channels have been banned from broadcasting in the Kalmunai area, it is reported.

It is said that many households in Kalmunai tune in to these cable TV networks.

The ban on several cable TV operators has been imposed by the Kalmunai Mayor Rakeeb Abubakar.

Expressing his views to the media the Mayor said that there are around 10,000 families that have obtained cable TV connections in the area and based on complaints received regarding some cable TV operators, this ban was imposed.

He regretted having to take this decision, but said it was inevitable as national unity is their sole desire.
