2,000 aadhaar cards found dumped on river bank in TN
About 2,000 aadhaar cards bundled in jute bags were found abandoned near the Mulliyaaru bank in Tiruvarur district yesterday.
According to revenue officials, the discarded cards were meant for distribution but were not delivered by the post office to the concerned people.
Some of the local people in Thiruthurapoondi managed to get their aadharcard from the dump, said a media report.
After the dump were found by some local children playing on the riverbed, revenue officials rushed to the spot and recovered the cards. The cards apparently printed two years ago belonged to the residents of Kattimedu, Aathirangam, Vadapathi and Sekkal villages.
A case has been registered based on a complaint from the the village administrative officer.
